This Zacels Door Hinge and Latch Jig is for a 44mm-45mm Thick Fire Door with 102mm Hinges (4inch) and either a 45mm or 57mm centre latch. Other models are available for 35mm Thick and 40mm Doors. Please see other listings.
The hinge section (102mm) can be used on doors ranging from 35mm-45mm thick. (Please note that a clamp will need to be used to secure the fence on one side to the door. Please see attached photos and remember the latch plate section of this jig is set for a 44mm-45mm door.)
Designed to be used with a 12-13mm template router cutter (such as the Trend 1/4″ Template Profile Router Cutter 12.7 x 9.5mm shown in the photos). The cutter is not supplied with the template.
As with any template, we strongly recommend you try the template on a spare piece of wood first to ensure it’s compatible with your hinge and cutter.
Can be used with any type of handle that has a latch backset of either 45mm or 57mm.

Process:
1.Install your cutter in your router and set the depth to match the thickness of your latch faceplate
2.Mark the centre line of your latch using the v groove at the top of jig
3.Drill 25mm Hole in door edge on the centre mark
4.Line up the centre line with the diamond shaped window and screw the jig in place (carefully choose the correct back set hole)
5.Router the faceplate recess and use a chisel to finish the corners
6.Pilot drill the door handle centre hole (carefully choose the correct back set hole) 3mm drill bit
7.Pilot drill the bolt throughs (only if using Howdens Newington Handles) if not then skip this step
8.Un-clamp or unscrew the jig
